Driving Larger Vehicles

Used to a small car and buying a people carrier or 4 x 4?

If you are considering buying a larger vehicle, or already have and are having difficulties with it,

this could be just the thing for you

It is not admitting defeat to admit that changing to a larger vehicle is more problematic than you thought that it might be.
                                                                  It usually is

Most people will not admit it though.

If the sheer size difference alone were not enough it is usually true that larger vehicles are more powerful too.  This is especially true of off road vehicles.

The dents and scratches that your vehicle may end up wearing are well worth avoiding.  A few driving lessons is not as expensive as one trip to the bodyshop though the benefits to your driving may save you the need for many such trips.

Common problems are:-
  • Feeling too close to vehicles on either side in narrow streets and wondering wether or not you will fit through that gap.
  • Suddenly losing the ability to reverse as well as you would like.
  • An unexpected increase in power.  Larger vehicles often contain more powerful engines which can take some getting used to.
  • Not being able to park in a car park.

Discuss what you would like to achieve with the instructor on the first lesson and overcome your particular concerns in an agreed order.

Whatever your concerns are.  It should not take long to aleviate them when we combine your will to conquer with the advice of a professional.
